Merry Christmas from DV Radio!
It's already that time of year (again) and we cannot believe it!
We hope you are having a lovely week/month, no matter what is going on. Some of you celebrate Christmas while some of you celebrate a day or two from work while [for some of you] it’s just another day. No matter how you observe Christmas, we want to extend our thanks, gratitude and let you know that we (here) at DV Radio cherish every last one of you; our listeners and supporters.
Where’s The Last Podcast?!
Some of you are wondering where the last episode of BARRACKS TALK is and it’s coming, it should be available by the end of December 23rd as we’ve had a lot going on with getting the End of the Year Tribute together, doing a few housekeeping things to get ready for 2023, and we’re also trying to work on the new intro for 2023 for BARRACKS TALK. We’re volunteers, one person edits (Bo), and things are going to be a lot slower than multi-million dollar companies. But we take pride in our work and none of it would be possible without all of you!
DV Radio Store Items Are Leaving
If you missed the last BARRACKS TALK, do heed warning that the “ROCK IT” DV Radio design line will cease to exist come the first day of 2023 as well as any Christmas items/designs. These will be replaced with new designs as well as an addition to merchandise which is bumper stickers!! If you would like ANY of these designs on any merchandise that is available, please do so immediately. If something is sold out (your size for example) please let us know what design, the size, and we’ll do our best to get that to you after it becomes available. This is the ONLY exceptions we will take into account at this time. You can click the graphic below to grab the ROCK IT line designs right now.
“Who won the contest?” Well, only two people actually entered (they didn’t even follow the rules and Bo let you know it on our last show!) but he had a heart and gave them both their winnings. [They should be showing them off as soon as they have them in hand.]
Will There Be A New Year’s Barracks Party?
Yes! We haven’t one clue who all will show up but we’re definitely going to be there. Some of you just want to have the DV Radio hosts there as we’re family, some of you just need some noise in the background, and some of you well… we’re not sure why you listen but we appreciate the hell out of it!
No More Work Until January 01, 2023
Okay, that isn’t completely true. What we mean by that is we will not be constantly looking at emails and comments on social media. This isn’t to avoid any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. but it’s because we need that extra time to get everything ready for 2023! Today is the last day we will seek out comments, emails, and any other orders of business that might be going on. If you send an email between now and the first day of 2023, do give us some time to get back with you as we have families, work, and other things outside of DV Radio just as you do. We’re no different than you, except we yell into our microphone once a week.
No BARRACKS TALK on Christmas Eve?
Sadly, not this year. The main reason is as we’ve said before, we need this extra time to get ready for 2023 and to spend time with those around us. We will have the last BARRACKS TALK up for your listening pleasure before Christmas Eve (however) if you would like to listen to it on one or both of those days!
I’m In A Slump & Need To Talk To Somebody
Look, we understand this time of year isn’t the best for everybody (including ourselves). We encourage you to reach-out to someone, somebody, some organization to at least get the burden off of your shoulders for a few minutes (at the very least). There is absolutely NO SHAME in speaking to anybody for any reason at all. We do it ourselves and encourage you to do the same. Please, reach out to anybody, even if it’s a stranger. Some of the best resources, and we ourselves have used and trust, is in the list below and you simply need to click their name or dial the number. They are:

Veteran Crisis Hotline: 9-8-8 is the number to dial then, press 1. If you’d rather text than speak, you can text 838255.
Battle In Distress: Although they’re on Facebook, it’s the absolute best resource outside of the prior two. We’ve worked closely with them since the inception of DV.
