FIGHT: To Fight On
From interviewing Betsy Ross on the series finale of FIGHT to a few updates, please go over any and all points within this newsletter!
Betsy Ross Ends FIGHT
In 2017, a female Army Veteran by the name of Betsy Ross published what was supposed to be a one-off realistic-fiction novella which depicted the ups, downs, trials and tribulations of life after military service. Now, six years later, she has typed the last punctuation mark for the FIGHT series in the last book of the series, FIGHT IV: To Fight On. Bo sat down with Betsy to discuss what prompted her to create the first book that turned into a series; now she (along with her readers) bid a bittersweet farewell to characters that exemplify and truly feels as though they are individuals we know.
Whether you're a spouse of a Military Veteran, son, daughter. Brother or sister. Friend or co-worker. You could even be a plumber, electrician, nurse, or law enforcement officer—this series will touch you like no other realistic-fictional series ever has. Hear what Betsy Ross feels about ending the series as well as what she has going on now and very soon!
You can hear this interview here on Podbean. If you prefer to listen on Spotify or another podcast platform, please head here. If you would like to purchase Betsy Ross’s FIGHT series or see what she has going on now and in the future, you can visit her website here.
Independent Musicians, Your Time Is Ending!
DV Radio used to play licensed music because we were asked to so much, and people were actually helping us pay the bills. Although we have a few that continue to help us pay bills to continue DV Radio, music licensing fees became too much. Thus, we moved over to exclusively public domain and independent artists for our daily rotation as well as playing music during shows. (This may or may not include intros.)
That in mind, your time to submit your music to be added to DV Radio’s daily rotation is almost up! If you’re a musician, independent, and own all the rights to your music, submit it ASAP! Veterans and spouses of a Veteran, you will get priority (we do NOT say “no” just because of status). All artists are welcomed; from rock to hip-hop to rap, country, and all that is in-between! The last possible second to submit your music is August 31, 2023 at midnight eastern. We will NOT be extending this deadline. So head over to the submission form here and submit your music to be added to DV Radio right now!
Preshow Podcasts, Do You Want Them?
We’ve thrown around the idea of adding preshows as a podcast for those that pay for the DV Radio newsletter, a little extra that we can give you that won’t take away from what we’re already doing and intrude on personal goings on. If this is something you’re interested in, please let us know! (Comments should be ‘on’ for all Substack users). Do know that we cannot promise a preshow podcast every week or multiples each month, but we will do our best to make at least one preshow podcast per month.
We may even get together for thirty minutes and just be stupid, you might even get to do a Q&A or AMA (Ask Me Anything) for one to replace a preshow podcast if we do not have enough content. Only those that are paid subscribers will be able to enjoy these behind-the-scenes and “extra” shows that we will try to push out. Again, if you’re interested in us doing this, let us know below!
DV Farm Septic System
Yup. We’ve still not raised the $25,000 for the septic system. We’ve barely made a dent in the fundraising, but we’re trying everything we can to get it done BEFORE the ground starts to freeze in New Hampshire as A] It will cause costs to rise and B] We NEED to get Veterans back into rehab at the DV Farm.
We are looking into a few things that we cannot speak about publicly but if you can ACTUALLY give us a hand in either funds, or know somebody that can help us get everything up to today’s codes, please let us know ASAP! You can contact us here and here. If you’d like to donate directly, please go here.
