DV Radio - What's Going on with DV Farm?
It's been a while since there was a video update from DV6 for the DV Farm and many are asking, "What happened?" Find out with this newsletter!
Where's the DV Farm videos?
There isn't any new ones, yet! So we have to back up a few weeks to around March 22, 2022. Dv6 had gotten down and was feeling AWFUL!! We're not talking about "I don't want to get off of the couch, I want to be like Bo for the week." We're talking about the awful kind of sickness where he doesn't even want to go outside and do anything on the Farm! For DV6, that's unheard of; the Man is ALWAYS needing to do something, even if it's just him going outside and moving things around... This was bad.
So we find out that DV6 has COVID (that's on a Tuesday) and a few days later, Saturday, Google tells us she's feeling down and won't be on the show. Jokingly, Recoil & Bo say during pre-show, "She better wear a mask if she comes on, don't wanna get COVID!" And as our luck would have it, she did have COVID!!
As the days go on, Google starts feeling better and DV6 is just moving along. Google finally feels better enough to come onto BARRACKS TALK and Bo mentions updating the listeners and social media followers about things at the DV Farm and she says, "The week that DV6 got down with COVID, we were going to do a video. The day we had planned, he could barely move so we had to scratch it." So that's why the latest video didn't happen.
Why can't Google do them?
She can, we know she can. She knows she can. DV6 knows she can. Most of you knows that she can. The problem? You're more prone to listening to DV6 and DV6 is the face of all things "DV", whether it's DV Farm or DV Radio, DV6 is the face and the one you want to hear from. We're not above MAKING her do it but we're also not ones to make people do what they're uncomfortable doing. It's also known that DV6 likes things done a certain way and, well, videos is another one. He just wants somebody there to guide him along (like Google or Bo) which is why you almost always hear/see somebody in the background during almost all of his live videos.
We'll settle for recorded videos, you know?
Yes, we know. And we love you all for your leeway on how we do things. The problem with recorded videos is that we cannot answer your questions as they come in the capacity that you deserve and they should be answered in. That isn't to say we're not planning on doing some recorded videos soon!
So when are the videos starting back?
Bo & Google are yelling at DV6 right now to get some live videos (hopefully less than 10 minutes!) soon. We're going to get some stuff together that DV6 needs to address first, then we'll start pumping them out once a week or every two weeks. Even if it's short, three minute videos... we're going to have something unless it's out of our control and we'll let you know if that video is put on the backburner!
When will Veterans be able to sign-up for admission again?
This is a question we've been asked since the winter as that was the original plan, as DV6 was supposed to have some surgery done. His VA switched some stuff so he could not get the surgery done and then, at the start of the new year, we were about to open up admissions again when we found out the problem with the septic system.
You can say we're finding excuses, somebody will... we see you! But the truth is, the septic system has had problems in the past and we have just not had the funds to redo the entire system. This part of the system however, must be done or we will not have a toilet to use which means we cannot open up the Vet House which means we cannot take admissions!
This is what we're working on (presently) but the ground is hard being that it is still super cold in New Hampshire and it'll cost even more if we go ahead with it now. So the best thing to do is to hold that money until the ground is warm enough to be dug into and fix the septic system then.
Will there be a DV Farm Newsletter?
Simply, yes! We're working on it (right now) so it'll be ready pretty soon! When we first release it, there may or may not be a paid option but we will have a direct link to the "DONATE" page of the DV Farm website each newsletter. As soon as it is available, we'll make an announcement through a newsletter, social media, and in our show following or beforehand... whichever comes first.
How can I help the DV Farm?
Simply, if you're able to donate then it would be GREATLY appreciated. If you're unable to donate but still need to do shopping and you shop online, Smile.Amazon.com and make DV Farm your charity of choice is another amazing and great way to help the DV Farm raise funds. There are also other places like Humble Bundle, Lunafide, ebay and many other online stores that give to 501(c)3 organizations, just type "DV Farm, Inc." and we should show up. Other ways to donate can be found here. If you're unable to donate, please share and spread the word about the DV Farm. And if you're on Facebook, Facebook fundraisers helps tremendously!
If you've helped us, do help us, support us in any way, shape or form please know that we value and appreciate you more than we can attest to. It does not go unnoticed and we are forever grateful.
